The "Expressive Arts" side of Emerald Coast Yoga includes visual arts and handmade, curated boutique items in our art gallery & boutique space inside Studio 228! Stop by before or after your yoga class and every Saturday from 12-5 pm to check out our constantly changing selection of original artwork and handmade gifts! We are proud to support and represent more than a dozen artists and creators in Studio 228's contemporary art gallery & boutique.

“Expressive Impressions:" A Collection of Landscapes from the Pacific Northwest to The Gulf
John MacPhail is a contemporary landscape painter. He is a graduate of the University of West Florida with a Bachelors Degree in Studio Art. He gained an affinity for landscape painting during his years spent in Seattle, Washington studying the monolithic mountains and the ephemeral haze of atmosphere. In addition to his Painting Professor John Markowitz and Drawing Professor Greg Saunders, his three biggest influences in Art are Turner, Bierstadt, and Sargent. He currently resides in his hometown of Pensacola, Florida where he uses the mercurial skies and waters of the Gulf as inspiration in his work.
